What Goes Around

Archimedes extensively developed the theory and usage of gears leading to the invention of the Antikythera mechanism around 100BC,   used for astronomical calculations and considered to be the first analog computer.    The technology was lost for almost 14 centuries before it was rediscovered. A classic example of the saying   “WHAT GOES AROUND  comes around”… 1400 years later.
