DESCRIPTION:The fourth annual sculpture show at the Live 4 Art Gallery opens with the artists reception on August 3. The show offers visitors a chance to step into the third dimension with artworks.   Wood fired ceramic artist Joel Brown\, stone sculptor Bob Madden\, and fiber artist Karen Madden all bring unique styles that encourage the viewer to think beyond the physical presentation and consider the negative space the sculptures surround.  Although the artists did not collaborate during the creation process\, the common thread of working and presenting in three dimensions provides an obvious complementary connection of ideas and context among the works.

DESCRIPTION:May 1 & 2 \n11am – 5pm both days \nARTmostNY invites you to visit artists in the midst of their creative process.   ARTmostNY is a group of working artists who are opening their studio doors for two days in which you can visit their studios while the artists are at work to get a sense of their challenges in realizing their artistic vision.  You will see and become acquainted with photography\, stone\, metal\, fiber\, wood\, and paint. There will be finished art on display\, but the artists will also be working on the projects. It might seem chaotic\, but it will not be dull. This is an excellent opportunity to see artists do what they do.

Bob’s stone studio and Karen’s metal studio will be open to visitors during the annual ArtEast Open Studio Tour (Note: Karen’s fiber studio will be open by appointment only so contact her directly if you are interested in her fiber work). \nThis is the 10th year for Bob and Karen Madden as a studio stop on the ArtEast tour and though it’s been a challenge\, they are working on making this the best tour possible under the covid-19 circumstances. \nKaren is celebrating her first full year of working in her new metal studio creating many new metal sculptures. She’s even created sculpture garden next to the the studio. Bob might slip in a few of his stone sculptures\, too. You don’t even have to go into the studios to see their works of art. \nSo\, bring your masks and your social distancing skills to enjoy a relaxing autumn day.
