Tilly Strauss, is a teaching artist
and art historian inspired by stories told by a long line of relatives. For
several years she has been writing and illustrating a YA art history “text”
book that starts at the beginning of time and is based on epochs as
experienced by ancestors in the family tree. She just returned from three
months teaching art history to high school sophomores in Switzerland. |

During the ARTmostNY tour
I will be working on portraiture in digital illustrations for publication.
Each month as part of my series of Tilly’s Ten Sheroes
Hidden in History, I research, illustrate and create an 18-page zine and
craft a short YouTube art talk. The month of May is all about the German
Expressionist painter Paula Modersohn-Becker. I
will be turning the research into illustrations on my iPad and laying
out the zine pages on Adobe Photoshop. |
